This little heroic character collection is inspired by an original Ladies Home Journal 1911 article
"Would You As A Woman Like to Vote?"
Dollies are created from original copies of vintage photos transferred onto cotton and stitched with golden thread. Feet are created from paper clay over wire and painted in the shoe design of the times. Votes for Women banners are created on a pure silk ribbon with a little tin button. Some characters bear a tiny copy of an original purple, green and ivory rosette. Each Suffragette stands tall on her all American podium with her important message.The year 1920 is hand stamped upon a petite copper tag fastened around her ankle which declares the year of victory! Most dollies measures approximately: 7" tall.
